Getting older means getting wrinkles, and that’s fact. But unsightly forehead wrinkles can be annoying and frankly, bothersome. There are ways to naturally get rid of them, however. Here’s how.
Use Common Sense With the Sun
Forehead wrinkles and all wrinkles on the face, neck, chest and hands, are caused by prolonged exposure to the sun. If you want to prevent your current wrinkles from getting worse and prevent more wrinkles from forming, you should always wear sunscreen when you go outside.
Even if it’s an overcast day out, you should wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30. In addition, try to cover as much of your skin as possible with clothing and accessories. To cover your face and prevent wrinkles from forming there, wear a wide-brimmed hat, and don’t forget the sunglasses
Don’t Furrow That Brow
Wrinkles can be exacerbated by furrowing your brow and making odd squinting faces. If you need new glasses to see, get them! Don’t allow your face to be scrunched up like that.
In the same vein, when you go to sleep at night, try to sleep on your back. Sleeping on your side or stomach will likely cause your face to scrunch up or get pressed to the side. This can cause wrinkles over time as well.
Stop Smoking if You Do
If you smoke stop now. You could potentially stop wrinkles in their tracks just by doing this one step alone. Smoking cuts off the amount of blood that makes it to your facial skin (and the skin all over your body), and this causes you skin to wrinkle up more easily. Decades of research studies have proven that smoking is one of the leading causes of wrinkles.
Use a Product That Contains Retinoids
Lastly, if you find that the above steps still leave you with wrinkles, your best bet is going to a product that contains retinoids. Retinol, derived from Vitamin A has been proven time and again to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead and the rest of the skin too.
Simply use this product every evening before bed. Just make sure not to use it before you go outside without an SPF as it can cause exaggerated reactions to the sun (more sunburn and wrinkles).
Use these steps to stop forehead wrinkles in their tracks and turn back the hands of time. You’ll be looking and feeling younger in no time.
