There is hair on almost every part of your body, and the small holes where the hairs come out are called pores. When your pores get clogged with sebum and dirt, they appear larger and don’t look very nice. Check out these steps for creating a smooth and clear face and reducing the size of your pores.
Check the products you use
Your face cleanser and moisturizer should both be non comedogenic. If you are a women, make sure your makeup is non comedogenic as well.
Cleanse twice per day
Cleanse your face with a mild, non comedogenic cleanser once in the morning and once at night. Always pat dry with a towel.
Once per week, use a mild cleanser with micro beads to help more vigorously clean out clogged pores. Do not use more than once per week.
Don’t touch your face
Throughout the day and night, do not touch your face with your fingers or hands. Your hands have oil and dirt on them, and this clogs pores and creates acne.
Change pillow cases every other day
You’ll need to buy some extra pillow cases! These can be bad places where dirt and oil can buildup and be transferred to your face.
Use clean towels every other day
You should also change your face towel every other day for the same reason. Remember to only pat your face with a towel, because rubbing aggravates the skin and could cause acne.
Men and women with thicker, more olive-toned skin often have larger pores. The truth is, anyone can have larger pores, and it actually isn’t a bad thing. It does not look as nice as smaller pored skin, but this type of skin does actually age better than thinner skin with smaller pores. To make pores smaller, use the steps above on a regular basis.
