How to Repair Damaged Hair From Bleaching

It’s fun to dye your hair different colors and highlight and lowlight it every once in a while,  but sometimes,  there’s a price to pay for these changes.

Hair can become stripped of its natural coloring and oils when you bleach it for lighter hair colors.  When the natural coloring and oils are taken out of the hair strands,  it can become dried out,  damaged and frayed.

Fortunately,  there are a few key things you can do to bring your hair back to its original vibrance.

Beer and Egg Mask

Surprisingly enough,  beer is a great conditioning agent for damaged hair.

When creating a beer mask for hair,  egg helps to keep the mask thick,  and it also helps to make the mask stick to the hair better.  Finally,  both egg and beer can be moisturizing.

1. Gather your ingredients

You will need a can of regular beer and one egg.  Beat the egg and add the beer.  Mix together.

2. Apply the mask

You should try to apply the mask in the shower because it might get messy.  Clip up your hair,  and allow the mask to be in your hair for approximately 30 minutes.

3. Rinse the mask

Rinse out the mask with cool water,  and wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Banana and Honey Mask

Bananas have restorative properties in them to help nourish the hair.  In tropical areas of the world,  women have been using bananas on their hair to make it softer and shinier for years.

1. Gather your ingredients

You will need one to two bananas that are very ripe and a tablespoon of honey.  For added moisture and to make the mask easier to handle,  add a tablespoon of olive oil.

Mash the bananas,  and beat all ingredients together.

2. Apply the mask

Stand in the shower and apply the mask to your hair.  Clip up your hair,  and leave it in for about 30 minutes.

3. Rinse the mask

Rinse the mask with cool water,  and wash with a mild shampoo.

Finally,  you’ll want to stop bleaching and dyeing your hair for a while.  Hopefully you have a color you are happy with now.

If you want to change the color,  make sure to go to a professional to get this done.

Try to get your hair as close to your natural color as possible.  That way,  when it grows back,  there won’t be a line,  and you can stop dyeing your hair completely for a while.

Make sure to exactly follow the directions above,  and you will restore your beautiful head of hair.
